Holly (my baby sista) came out to visit this weekend...we had a lot of fun! She got here late Friday night and we just chilled and watched "Lost"...as usual we now have more questions than answers...dang you Carlton & Damon, producers of Lost!!!
I took this pic right after she got there...not sure why. I think we were discussing our phones for some reason. She's wearing a shirt she made to support her boyfriend Kevin...she had just been at his Volleyball Banquet. Saturday was fun...we had a busy day! She accompanied me to Powder Puff practice. I was tempted to ditch so she didn't have to wait for me, but I was afraid of Paula's wrath. :) Luckily Holly was cool & just waited and read (everyone in my family are big readers), because I needed the practice! Then we rushed on over to a Bridal Shower for Leann. It was a very nice shower. The food was amazing...the most perfect cinnamon rolls ever and tons of other goodies. Leann looks so happy, and we are happy for her! After that it was off to Loehmann's to find a dress for Holly's Prom in 2 weeks. I had never been there before, and let me tell you, I will try not to go again...because I wanted to buy EVERYTHING! :) They have the best designer stuff there for cheap. No, not Palmdale cheap, OC cheap, but still! I loved it. We spent 3 hours there, rummaging and trying on dresses.
I liked this one (especially because it was only $15), but in the end we decided on the brown below...it looked so classy and red carpet. My cell camera doesn't capture how great they were.
After over 2 hours we were about to leave with the brown dress. Holly liked it, but wasn't crazy over it. It was just the best one we found. But on the way to the register we found a previously unnoticed section with a plethora of better choices. As we were about to head back to the dressing room, we found it...the one. It is a precious Calvin Klein, sleeveless, pleated, tea-length...just a beautiful concoction! When trying to describe the color we decided that it is "Tiffany blue," like the jewelry boxes from Tiffany's.
The picture does not do it justice! Holly loved it! She loved it even more when she fit into the size 4! (Brat!) Now she just needs to find shoes and a little sweater to make it modest.
After that we hit the beach by my house. I have been going to the beach a lot, but in Laguna. I noticed that the water is a lot cleaner there. But we still went in and had a great time keeping cool and working on our tans.
For dinner we met up with a bunch of my friends at The Cheesecake Factory. In reality I felt like I was crashing because it was a dinner for Erin, who I don't know well, but we had a great time. The food there is just so good...I only wish I would have had room for their amazing cheesecake!
*picture stolen from Karly's blog! :)
Afterwards we rented a movie with Debbie & Karly and got Golden Spoon (I guess I had room after all!). We watched "The Ex" at Karly's. My review? Great cast, so-so movie. It was funny, but not great. Too bad...I loved every single person in the movie...it was just missing something.Late Saturday night I got some hives, so I took half a pill. I was fine afterwards...I didn't get tired like last time. I even set up my wireless network in my house so I could get Internet in my room (thank you gift cards to Circuit City from work!). But when I tried to get up Sunday morning it just was not happening. I took the pill at about midnight Saturday and couldn't get up until 11am. I felt groggy and out of it until about 3pm. I hate these hives!
After church we went to the beach again since Holly had to go home that night. We drove around Laguna Beach and then hit the beach at Mountain St. It was so nice...the water was beautiful! It was so clear that even in water up to my chest I could clearly see the bottom, more clear than I have ever seen. I even found some cool shells. Christa met us there and we enjoyed chatting and reading and just enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather. It was so nice. But every good thing has to end, so we went back to my place, Holly packed up, and she started the long trek back to the desert. I think she had a great time though...hopefully good enough that I can convince her to stay with me for a week or two this summer before she goes to the Y! :)
