What the heck is happening on Wall Street?

If you're like me, you've asked yourself that question in the past week. A gentleman I work with forwarded a very informative article, so I wanted to share it with you.

As my friend Christa pointed out, our Prophets have been advising to avoid debt for some time now...thank goodness! Following their counsel only leads to happiness. Who could have forseen the current crisis? Even though we may not be big investors, this will affect everyone. It's going to be very hard to get a loan in the near future, and if credit is obtained, it will cost more.

As someone who is getting married soon and trying to start a family and a life together, I'm pretty near terrified for the future, and this election isn't helping. No matter who wins, we're headed for big trouble, and the only way we're going to get out of it is to stop pointing fingers, stop trying to fix others, and all take a long hard look in the mirror and get it together. I wish I knew the answer, but it's gotten too complicated and no one can do it themselves. We are ALL going to have to work together, one Nation under God!

Meanwhile, please try & live within your means, and save for some very rainy days ahead. I'm saying this to myself more than to anyone else. The only things we truly need in life are the Gospel and our relationships with family and loved ones.

I live within my means. Boo-yah! (Let's forget my 200 dollars on my credit car. I can pay that off October 1st)

We have a very small credit card balance, that I will be paying off this month, and a decent amount in savings. It took a long time for me to get to this point as I was extremely irresponsible when I was younger.

    Yay for maturity!

Kristina, I think I've been mature since I was 16. Can I digress and start spending money irresponsibly now????

    Yes, Julie, yes you can.

Oh, and Heather, another thing we need, besides the Gospel and our friends and family? DVRs.

If we didn't have to actually eat food, we'd be in great shape!

    Food this!

I need a DVR. Then I can record Glenn Beck and he can tell me when the time comes to storm 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with my new tetanus pitchfork.
