Up-diddity-ate

Just so you don't get sick of all this wedding crap, I'll update you on our life right now. We live in Palmdale, at my dad's house. As you all know, I was laid off in November and Cody just got back from his mission and started school today. We are pretty poor. So during the stress of planning a wedding and looking at some ghetto apartments to rent, my mom Jill offered to let us live here with her, my dad, and my sister Jesi. Jesi even moved out of her bigger room into the small one so we could have space! So nice! After little consideration, we took them up on their offer. It is so nice to live together in a beautiful home. It's cozy in our room, but we get along with my family so well that it's not weird at all. Cody & my dad are like best friends...I tease Cody that he only married me to get closer to my dad. Plus, Cody loves my parent's huge plasma and blue-ray player! :)

Our bed...it's raised high for extra storage, and I have my trusty princess stool to help me get up in it! :)
We have plans to put a shelf above here to put picture frames and knick-knacks on.
We've picked out a bookcase from Ikea to go here to put our TV on and all that stuff...we just have to go and get it :) The stuff there is all temporary...we will be able to get in the closet easier soon!
We like it...we're comfortable. My parents also spoil us with cheap rent, good food, and they even set up directTV with DVR in our room! Thanks!!! :)
As I mentioned, Cody started school today. It was funny to get up and make him breakfast and send him off...my baby is all grown up! I almost took a picture, but I didn't want to embarass him! ;)
I am still working on little projects, trying to get organized. There is so much to do...thank you cards, duplicate gift returns, using our gift cards to get things we need, paperwork, organization, etc... One of my most pertinent things to do is regarding our marriage license. I just got something in the mail saying it's not valid because they stamped the date on there twice. So now I have to figure out how to get in contact with the person who married us so he can fill out a form, then we have to pay another $30 to get a new license that has to be signed with NO ERRORS, even a duplicate stamp. Bummer. That's going to take a few weeks before we can be registered as married.
I also need to find a job...yeah, like tons of other people out here. It's a sad state right now. Please pray for me...I doubt I'll find anything decent right now without divine intervention! Plus I really need insurance!
So, married life is good so far...it's nice to not have to go home to separate places anymore! :) It's fun doing all the adult stuff together, and saying "my husband" & "my wife." I have a hard time using my married name though...I keep forgetting! I keep accidentally saying my maiden name. Oops!

It took me about a year to stop saying my maiden name. Good luck with the job hunt.

Love the set up. Happiness is not found in big living spaces, look at us :) No, seriously who even cares how big of a place you live in, being married to your sweetheart is most important and it sounds like you get that!

Love seeing pics. Thanks for sharing, the anticipation of it all has been killing me. It all looks great, even if it's not quite done yet.

So, when you say you guys are doing "adult stuff" together, what are you referring to? ;) haha. We live at my moms and we love it, Grant loves it more than me. I think we have good guys because not every guy would love that kind of living situation. I'm glad your life together is finally under way!!

Are you going to tell me that you didn't write "Mrs. Heather Hokansen" 1000 times while he was on his mission? LOL

    I hope I spelled that right. :p

ha ha...adult stuff, like getting callings together and buying stuff for our home and paperwork and all that! I'm officially not a kid anymore, and therefore can't act like one. Bummer.

    Close Brittany...it's Hokanson. :)
