White Water Rafting

Right after we got back from Hawaii our friends Eric & Ileana and Ty & Angela were going camping and white water rafting. We were only able to join them one night and one day, but luckily that was the rafting day! We drove up to Kernville and met them at the campsite which was right on the river and right next to where we would meet to go rafting. We did the Lickety Fun Run (Class 2 and 3 runs) with Kern River Tours and we had a BLAST! You start at the office and ride a bus up the road to different start points. At first we started at the normal spot for the 4 mile run, but we were doing so well that they started bringing us higher to get more rapids. We only paid for 4 runs, but we were so fast and having so much fun that our guide Havi took us 5 times through the runs. The only bummer was getting on the bus and driving back up the river to start over again, but the staff made it fun. We got 5 runs - 2 on the 4 mile run and 3 on the 5 or 6 mile run, so we had a lot of rapids and a lot of fun! They even have lunch included, which was delicious. We can't wait to go back and try one of the harder, longer trips!

The drive up was BEAUTIFUL! We took the 14 N to the 178 E to the 99 N. Just over 2 hrs from Palmdale.
First glimpse of Lake Isabella
Yay! Camping!
Our site was right on the river
Hmmm...is the meat cooked all the way?

Yummy! Eating outdoors makes food taste better!

Good morning sunshine!
The Meyers made us waffles!

Ready to raft!
Our bus driver, Jay (I think)
On the bus!

Give us some rapids!!!!

Fishing...but no fish
So pretty!!!!

These last pictures are taken by the company's photographer...Click on them because you will want to see them bigger. We took turns "riding the bull" which meant sitting on the nose of the raft trying not to fall off while going through the rapids. We had SO MUCH fun!!!! Everyone should go white water rafting!!!

I have so many great memories!

Where are the shots of you two riding the bull? Where is that company photographer? Those are some great shots. Did they run out of grown up sized life vests? Cody's vest looks like is was made for a small child, lol!
