Station Fire

This post isn't very timely, but I have been super busy with my new calling. Over a month ago a humongous fire started in the Angeles National Forest, less than 30 miles from Palmdale. It ended up burning 160,577 acres. It was raining ash here for a few days and not very pleasant, and our hearts went out to those who lost their homes and to the firefighters who fought so diligently, day in and day out, to finally get it mostly contained (I believe it is 98% contained as of right now).

No, that's not a tint on my window...that was smoke & ash! I liked the juxtaposition of the clouds in front of me and clear, blue skies in my rear-view mirror.

After the Adult Session of Stake Conference I came out to our car and it looked like snow!

Thos pics are gnarly. Totally reminds me of the fires in OC 20 yrs ago when it rained ash in our front yard for 3 days straight. So weird!

I didn't know it was so close! It's weird how pretty stinky smoke can make everything look.
