I had a scary experience today...I got a phone call this morning from my best friend's sister, Kristine. She was calling to let me know my friend, Jessi, was in the ICU due to inexplicable blood clots. They had even gotten into her lungs, but the doctors couldn't figure out what was causing them. After I got off the phone with Kristine I was just overcome with emotion and started bawling. I immediately prayed that the doctors could figure out what was wrong with her, but I know that sometimes good people are taken away from us too early. Jessi just had a baby boy, Spencer, last Wednesday. I had called her yesterday, but she was asleep because she wasn't feeling well and so I spoke with her mom. I was recalling the last time I spoke to her about a week ago, grateful that we spoke and that I was able to tell her that I love her. She lives in Utah, so I haven't seen her in over a year. I've spent the last few hours hoping for the best, but preparing myself for the worst. Horrible thoughts came to me, like how was I supposed to get married without my bridesmaid? What would the babies do without their mommy? It's really scary when you are forced to think about how fleeting mortality is.
Gratitude
Thankfully I just got a message that the worst has past. The doctors are calling it a miracle. She'll be in the hospital for a few days, but Jessi should be okay.
I am so grateful that Heavenly Father is letting her stay with us! She has a wonderful husband, four beautiful boys, and a big family that love her and need her so much. I have always been close with her family...in fact I feel like an adopted child and that they are my family too. This experience has taught me how important it is to never take for granted the ones we love. I am so thankful for my beautiful friend and for miracles!
I love you so much Jessi and I will continue praying for you and your family!!!
