My hero

I am going to copy Christa today and post about my hero of the day...Mark Schiefelbine. You may think I'm being a bit dramatic, but he really saved me today. I have had a rough week - and it's only Tuesday! But coming so so so very close to losing Jessi has really taken a toll on me. I finally got to talk to her today and she is doing better, but she isn't out of the woods. She is septic and everything is infected. Her heart rate is 120 bpm resting...if she exerts any energy it goes to 140! I wish I could be closer to her to help out. But talking to her has helped cheer me up a lot...I just feel kinda bad because it wipes her out to talk. So in between all the calls to Utah and work and everything, I am checking Craigslist for a cheap dresser, like I do every couple of days. And I find the perfect dresser, at the perfect price (I am ghetto-poor right now, but my clothes are piled around in laundry baskets). I have been looking for months and here was my chance! And it was in NB, 10 minutes away from work! So in my excitement I rush over there, not really thinking hard enough if it will fit in my car...and it doesn't. What am I gonna do? Truthfully I was scared to wait any longer because I was scoring a major deal and I didn't want the guy to either change his mind or sell it to someone else. So I call my roommate, no dice. Cody isn't here to do all the manly things anymore. I have no family out here, and who wants to let me borrow a truck? I can't rent one...I'm poor! That's why I'm buying used furniture from strangers! All of a sudden Mark pops in my head. He works right by me and lives in San Clemente, so essentially it would be less of a burden for him then anyone else. I called him, no answer (he is crazy hard to get a hold of), so I just sent him a text. I headed back south to come home, defeated. A couple of hours later he called back, and after I explained my situation he went so above & beyond to help me, I'm in awe. He went to this complete strangers house by himself, loaded up my dresser, drove it to my house, essentially carried it up 3 flights himself, all for little ol' me! For nothing! I offered, but he refused. I almost want to cry right now thinking about it. It's probably nothing to him, but for me it was such a blessing. For a sick, emotional, single gal whose fiance is out of the country, this was an amazing service and I am so thankful. If any of you who know Mark see him, give him a big hug or pat on the back for me. And of course I need to do something for him, so I need ideas...homebaked goods? $15 gift card? To where? Any ideas?
I thank Heavenly Father for wonderful men like Mark Schiefelbine!

This is the great deal! Perfect condition, with a bonus side table still in box and lamp! I am so lucky!
ps...When I tell you I tell you I wake up with a different body part swollen every day, it's true! Today was my bottom lip! luckily Benadryl works or people would mistake me for one of the OC plastic surgery junkies.
