I've had a fun day today, even though I overslept this morning. Or actually, maybe because I overslept this morning. Who knows. Anyhoo, I'm used to my company blocking everything I try to do on the Internet. I get these messages all the time saying something is blocked because of the categories "general email" or "streaming media", etc... But I wasn't expecting this when I tried to look up the meaning of something in an Internet encyclopedia...That's right, Tasteless! Now they are judging me, saying that trying to look up what it means to be "Duck Rolled" (a practical joke) is tasteless! Well, excuuuuse me! :)
It's been a really good day at work. Everything is getting done, everyone is in a good mood, we're nice and busy, it's Bagel/Krispy Kreme day...it's just overall a great day. But the best part is...I have absolutely no hives. Since about 7pm on Wednesday I have been hive free. I've been afraid to say anything because I don't want to jinx it. Last time I posted that the hives were gone, they came back that day. But I feel good about it now. It's all thanks to my new prescription, Atarax. My good friend Janis, an RN, told me to ask for this prescription. So when I went to the Dermatologist, I did. It's for chronic hives. Dr. Ray agreed that was a good choice. I didn't get the pills until Wednesday because I had to get them at my clinic, and I took one on Wednesday night. I was a little weirded out, because check out the possible side effects -
Drowsiness
Dry Mouth
Involuntary Motor Activity
Shakiness
Jerking of face, trunk, or extremities
My home teacher Mark Howe was over right when I took the pill, and we were laughing about these. Good thing he was there to warm me if my trunk or extremities started jerking!
I had giant hives on my legs and back (one the size of my hand) and they were gone within 20 minutes. And they haven't come back. Can you freaking believe it?!?! I am so ecstatic! Over TWO MONTHS I have been dealing with this! And now I'm normal again! Well, you're right, I've never actually been normal, but I guess we can say I'm not as weird anymore! :)
So look at my purse... Would you think that it was actually a doctor's bag?
I've got everything but a scalpel! I needed to carry all this junk around because I had to take medicines galore to be able to function. And the pills would have side effects which made me have to take other pills to deal with those. And I tried so many gels, lotions and creams to relieve my hives. And don't get me started on the inhaler. But now I don't have to carry all of this junk around anymore!
But what am I going to talk about now? :)
