My life really isn't that complicated, seeing as I don't have a traditional job, am not in school, and don't have children. How do you women do it all?

Wow, what a week! Good luck with your new calling. I know you'll do great!

  2. Jessi August 24, 2009 at 6:24 AM

HEATHER!! That is THE coolest thing I ever heard! I want to be in YW and I want YOU to be the President. You were made for that calling. That is so perfect. That is the craziest week ever!

As president, you will know when and where girls are ditching mutual. You will allow Chinese Firedrills on scavenger hunts. And you will teach them the lost art of ding-dong-ditching, among other things, of course. It's gonna be amazing because YOU are!

Heather, Hey this is Desserae Nelson. I wish you good luck with the whole YW thing. I just got released from 1st councelor after 4 years in young womens. I have to say it was a great calling and I am greatful that I was able to be in YW. None the less I was so excited to be released at the same time. It is a very demanding calling but the blessings that you recieve and the friendships I gained with those YW will last forever and I just hope that I made an impact on them for their lives. I know you will do great!!

YW President, wow! That's a definite toughy. I've been a counselor in the YW presidency before, but that's entirely different.

I'm currently the Primary President and actually kind of prefer it. Kids really are kind of fun.

    Awe.Some.

    Amen to everything Jessi said!
I can just see you laying down the law and having so much fun at the same time!

I would be terrified, but I think you'll be amazing!

    PS Great job on photoshop!

Sounds like a crazy week. Isn't that how it always works -- things go along all normal and fine and then BAM - crazy becomes the norm for a bit.

I'm so excited for your new calling! You're going to be a fantastic YW President. And I'm convinced women don't do it all - they pray a lot and hope for the best. And it totally works! Love you girlie!!

    You will be awesome!

I live in a branch and we don't even have YM/YW in it. I miss it!

Thanks for the support gals. I just feel the weight of each girls problems right now, but I'm sure as I get to know them more it will get easier to bear.

Yeah Jess, this is KARMA for all the punk things we did. I mean, now I'm the freaking PREZ in the exact same classrooms, same building, and Shirley Hill is our Stake YW prez! Talk about coming full circle. I've been in the calling for a day and a half and I've already had to use the same excuses they always gave us when we tried to plan crazy activities. :) AND Leslee Haralson is my 2nd counselor! She was our leader! So insane.

Sjauna...you are right about laying down the law. let's hope we still have fun! :)

Rayna - Ummm HI!!!!! Miss you! I know you know all about the pressure with your calling!

Christa - Primary scares me...I have little patience for kids in a church setting. I need to work on that.

Desserae - Thanks for the advice! I still want to sing that song my dad always sung when he saw you. :)

Thanks Steph and Kristina! I have days where I am freaked and days where I am calm, but I'm sure I'll make it...once I get used to it.

Whoa! That is ca-razier than I could ever imagine! I want to come visit just to watch you be all official, but not. :) Just so you know, Leslie does NOT like it when you run across the chairs in the RS room. (What was I thinking? I was a naughty little punk!) I am game for a new blog look whenever you have three seconds to spare, so in a few years? :) I LOVE yours so much. Good, beautiful, amazing job!

YW PRESIDENT! Holy cow! I'm in the YW presidency, but definately not president. You are going to do awesome! You are so likable and fun, no worries no worries ;)

I knew Cody was a genius! You can do it all. I love you so much.
I love the new look of our blogs. That husband of yours says he is not a blogger. I think he really needs to use his blog as a weekly journal. You just did and it was so cool!

Ha. I'm the YW sec. and the ladies that were my leaders are the pres and counselors. It's so funny. You will do awesome though. It's such a great place to be and you will have such a positive influence on the girls!

PS. I tried submitting my writing for a "Pea" like a year ago but I guess it wasn't cute enough, so I just downloaded some other cute fonts that I use...

Congratulations on your new calling. I loved that calling. There are so many amazing websites out there to help with things for Young Womens. You are going to be great! I like busy weeks. They keep my mind of real life a bit! :)
